How to Choose a DJ and MC for Your Sangeet

Your sangeet should feel like your family's party, not a generic dance night. The right DJ and MC make that happen.

Ask about the music mix

Great sangeet sets blend Bollywood, bhangra and garba with Top 40 so every generation has a reason to dance. Share a must-play and do-not-play list.

Check the MC's style

A good MC keeps the program moving, pronounces names correctly and switches comfortably between languages. Ask whether they host in English, Hindi, Punjabi or Gujarati and what they do when a speech runs long.

Plan the program together

Performances, speeches and dances all need slots. Build a simple run-of-show with times and who introduces what.

Confirm sound and lighting

Ask what equipment is included, how setup works at your venue and what the backup plan is if something fails.

Book one team for sound and moments

When the DJ, dhol players and effects crew work from one timeline, entrances and big moments hit exactly on beat.
